Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style that combines R&B with gospel, soul music and R&B. From Broadway to European festival and clubs, the singer has done work everywhere. Sunshine has the name Denise White. While she is a resident of Atlanta however, she comes in Chester Pennsylvania where she began the musical path by singing and playing the piano in church. She went to Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her musical apprenticeship in Atlanta's R&B scene. She was the main pianist for Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her voice she asked Sunshine to be part of the Dreamgirls show during Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine received national attention for four daily performances during the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was chosen to sing as part of the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
